As we approach the Spring Conference, it is important that all clubs be represented at the Spring Business meeting to cast their votes for the leadership for next year. Every club has 2 votes, one for the president and one for the vice-president of education. Either of them may carry both votes without a proxy. However, if neither of them are able to attend, they need to complete a proxy and give it to a member who will be attending the conference. This is your opportunity to have a say in leadership, bylaw changes and other business of the District. A toastmaster who is a member of more than one club may only carry the proxy for one club. What a fantastic weekend!!! If you were not able to join us in Naples this weekend, you missed a fantastic event! Kudos to David Clarke, our Conference Chair, and his entire team for putting together a fun, educational weekend for all. The photos are up in our gallery, so be sure to check them out. As promised in the Business Council Meeting, the minutes from the May 2 Meeting are now available HERE. We had two special guests that joined us for the festivities. Darren LaCroix was our guest speaker and he did a fabulous job of explaining why we all need to join Toastmasters Anonymous! Our second guest was our brand new International Director, Pamela Christopher, doing her first District visit in her new role. We set the bar high for the rest of the Regions' conferences. She was very well received and made many friends in D47. Some of the other highlights of the weekend included the Roasting of our Immediate Past District Governor, Antionette Fox. She admitted to feeling a little warm when we were done. Antionette also recognized her team from last year for the job they did to help take our District to #5 in the world. We held our Evaluation and Humorous Speech Contests. WOW! Both contests showed a lot of talent amongst our members. Evaluation Contest Winners
