Schreima, a 15-year Toastmaster, is a member and mentor of the Heartland Talk of the Town Toastmasters in Sebring. This former member of Grand Lake Toastmasters Club in Celina Ohio served as the District 47 public relations officer and has held almost every club office. She has won awards for speaking, writing and photography. She was voted Toastmaster of the Year twice by her fellow club members. As a single mother, working two jobs, Schreima earned her bachelor of arts degree in mass communication with honors from Wright State University in Dayton in 1991. She has received honors from the New Knoxville and Minster Ohio Village Council’s, the New Knoxville School Board and was named to the Ohio School Board Association Media Honor Roll for her fair and accurate reporting of New Knoxville Schools. "The Lionlady" had quite a following in west central Ohio for many years with her Lion’s Den column and feature stories. Besides newspapers she has been published in a number of magazines. She has received two scholarships to attend the Midwest Writers Conference at Ball State University in Muncie, Ind. Most recently she received a Gracie Award for exceptional volunteer service at Highlands Little Theatre in Sebring. This freelance writer moved to Florida to be near her family. She is an avid fan of The Andy Griffith Show and has interviewed many of the cast members, including Don Knotts. She enjoys people, traveling, photography, history, movies, theatre and art. She is most proud of her two beautiful grandchildren, Alex & Katelyn, who live in Bradenton. "I am excited to be part of District 47. I look forward to making lots of new friends and seeing the growth of individual members as well as the clubs. Toastmasters is the greatest organization in the world. I’ve seen how it changes people’s lives and I’m honored to serve as the Area 61 Governor," she said. Area 61 Governor Cathy Schreima ATM-Gold, moved to Florida in August of 2008. While she may be new to District 47 she is not new to the Toastmasters organization.
