Division I Area Directors

Area I90 Director Carlos PalaciousArea I90 - Carlos Palacious, ACG, ALB

Carlos Palacious joined First Bahamas Branch of Toastmasters, Club 1600, in November 2010. He has served as the cub’s president, vice president education, vice president membership, vice president public relations and treasurer, and was the winner of the 2013 District 47 Evaluation Contest.
Carlos has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Dalhousie University (Canada) and a master’s degree in coastal and oceanographic engineering from the University of Florida. Carlos was the first Bahamian coastal Engineer.  
He is a licensed professional engineer in the Bahamas, the United States and Canada, and is director of operations at Caribbean Coastal Services. Carlos holds numerous positions in professional, civil, non-profit and religious organizations. He is married to Anastarcia Palacious and also enjoys exercising, fishing and travelling.

Area I91 Director Kimberley BainArea I91 - Kimberley Bain, ACS, ALB

Kimberly Bain joined the Toastmasters program in October 2011. She took a break from the program for two years as a result of a serious accident. She recommitted to the program in 2013 as secretary of her corporate club, RBC Legends. In 2015 she assumed the role of president of her club. Since that time, she has achieved the Toastmasters designation of Advanced Communicator Silver/Advanced Leader Bronze and was a Triple Crown winner in 2015-17. 
Kimberly had an awesome year that afforded her the opportunity to explore and develop her communication skills to her full potential. She says the learning experience has been invaluable, and she continues to encourage her co-workers and other individuals to join a Toastmasters club for self-development. It is her vision that at year’s end all clubs in Division I will be President’s Distinguished. She promises to work hard to help them accomplish this achievable goal.  

Area I92 Director Shonell PinderArea I92 - Shonell Pinder, ACG, ALB

TM Pinder was born August 27, 1975.  She is happily married to Hubert Alonzo Pinder, Jr. They have two lovely daughters, Jaida and Ariel.

“Teaching is more a pleasure than a profession!”  She teaches at Ridgeland Primary School, and serves as grade one Level Head, Religious Studies Coordinator, and Assistant Shop Steward.

She has served as P.T.A. President at Claridge Primary, is a member of Commonwealth Writers Association of The Bahamas, and a part of ‘Woman of Excellence’ in B.F.M. where she is a church member.  In B.U.T. Nation Builders Club, TM Pinder has served as V.P.M., V.P.P.R., and President in 2011 – 2012.  In Toastmasters, she’s received numerous trophies, awards, and certificates (certified judge).

Area I93 Director Ray-Don PoitierArea I93 - Ray-Don Poitier, ACS, ALB

Ray-Don Poitier was born in Freeport, Grand Bahama, in 1977.  He attended high school in Nassau, Bahamas, and later the Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute, where he achieved a certification in electronics.  He also completed a single-phase electrical license course at the College of the Bahamas before studying electrical engineering. Poitier is an NCTI-certified line maintenance technician with Cable Bahamas Ltd.  
His journey in Toastmasters began in 2012, when he joined the First Bahamas Branch of Toastmasters, Club 1600, which he served as sergeant at arms.  After relocating to Abaco, he joined the Abaco Lighthouse Beamers Club 1314025 and served as vice president membership and president.  Ray-Don lives by the mantra, "No man ever achieved greatness by leaving the job undone."
