Fellow Toastmasters, welcome to another Toastmasters year, and thank you for keeping the commitment you made to yourselves, your Clubs and the Organization. It is both my privilege and pleasure to serve as your Division Director 2020/2021, and together with our Team of Area Directors, Club Officers and Members, we look forward to an Incredible, Inspiring and Innovative year ahead.
We have over the past several months since the inception of the restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, demonstrated our strength, commitment, dedication and resiliency as a Division, and as a people. Despite the challenges, we continue to push ahead, determined to succeed in our efforts.
While the new online meeting protocols are different from the physical meetings we are used to, we adapted, we embraced the new technology and took advantage of the opportunity to visit many other Toastmasters Clubs in our Family Islands, throughout District 47, and in other Districts around the world.
Our first quarter is one to be proud of, and augurs well for another successful year for the Division. Continue to immerse yourselves in Pathways, achieve your educational goals; find creative ways to attract new members to your Clubs, work with your Treasurers to ensure timely dues payments and maintain you and your Club’s active statuses. Have an idea or lead for a new club, let’s explore it, work towards attaining your Pathways DTM requirements.
Let us continue to promote a spirit of collaboration, communication, cooperation and compassion for each other; it is only TOGETHER that we overcome any odds and succeed.

DIVISION I TEAM AGREEMENT
We the Core Leadership team of Division I: Verna Bonaby, Jecholiah Barnett, Bethshan Jules, Hubert Edwards and Ancin Munnings pledge to always maintain the core values of TMI in all that we do, leading with Integrity, Respect for each other and those we lead, to lead with a sense of Service and always with Excellence.
Our relationships will be built on mutual honesty, trust and teamwork, always communicating, coordinating, and working in collaboration to ensure maximum benefits to our clubs, Areas, Division and District.
We promise to be open and honest in our communications and to hold each other accountable. Where a conflict or difference of opinion may arise, we commit to solve these quickly, sensitively and with the support the circumstances warrants.
We agree to meet at least once per month, and as often as may be necessary to review and discuss any matters arising within the Areas, Division and the District. Consideration will be taken when setting meeting times that there is no conflict with Area Councils and Club meeting times. We will remain in constant contact with each other and our members via WhatsApp, telephone and email communication.
The decisions of the team will be binding on the team. We will take collective responsibility for all decisions we make, making said decisions with open honesty and above board clarity at all times.
As Division Director, I further pledge to ensure that all Team members are provided continuous learning opportunities, ensuring that their leadership, communication and education goals are met while they serve the needs of the members.
