Program Quality

Shooting Star Award – Presented During The Fall and Winter Speech Contests
A new member who has been a member for 12 months or fewer (joined on or after January 1, 2021), completes and submits at least 2 Pathways levels, attends a Toastmasters Leadership Institute (TLI), participates in club contests (as contestant or functionary), and demonstrates leadership skills in the club will be recognized during the Area and Division Fall and Spring contests. One member is recognized in each club, area, and division. The District Shooting Star will be recognized during the Annual Conference. If no new member meets all criteria, clubs may nominate a new member who meets the criteria the best.

Pathways Proficiency – 7/1/2021 – 12/31/2021
A member who completes and submits all 5 levels in a Path (during the time period above) earns a Pathways Proficiency Pin (Items #: 5850-5859; 5865).

Other Recurring

Pathways Certificate of Proficiency – 7/1/2021 – 6/30/2022
A member who completes a Level in Pathways will receive a digital badge. A member who completes a Path in Pathways will receive a digital Certificate of Proficiency or may download and print a Certificate of Proficiency.  Clubs may optionally provide ribbons or pins for completion of each Level or each Path.  Provided by Toastmasters International and /or clubs.

Pathways Mentor Program Certificate of Proficiency – 7/1/2021 – 6/30/2022 –
A member who completes the optional curriculum for the Pathways Mentor Program and any full path earns a digital Certificate of Proficiency. Provided by Toastmasters International.

Triple Crown Award7/1/2021 – 6/30/2022 –
A member who completes and submits at least 3 Educational Awards/Levels in Pathways will receive a Triple Crown Pin (Item # 5913); Limit 1 per person.

Distinguished Toastmaster (“DTM”) Award 7/1/2021 – 3/31/2022

A member who completes 2 learning paths in Pathways, serves as a club officer for 12 months while participating in the preparation of a Club Success Plan and a district-sponsored club officer training program, serves a one year term as a district officer, successfully serves as a Club Mentor or Coach, successfully serves as a Club Sponsor or conducts a Youth Leadership Program or Speechcraft, and completes a DTM project will receive a DTM Medallion (Item # 5798) and will be recognized at the Annual Conference.* 

*Member must individually register for the 2022 District Conference to be eligible for the medallion.

Club Growth

Sponsor 5/10/15 New Members – 7/1/2021- 6/30/2022

A member who sponsors 5 new members during the program year will receive a unique blue pin.   A member who sponsors 10 new members will receive a unique burgundy pin.  A member who sponsors 15 new members will receive a 25% discount towards their next product purchase from the Toastmasters International online shop.   To receive credit, sponsors must place their names and home club numbers on the new membership applications.   Provided by Toastmasters International.

Communication/Public Speaking

Speech Contests7/1/2021 – 5/15/2022 – Club/Area/Division and District Humorous Speech, Speech Evaluation, Table Topics & International Speech contests –  winner’s certificate, ribbon, and/or trophy for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place at the discretion of the Club, Area, Division or District.

Speech Contests5/16/2021 – 6/30/2022 – Quarter-finals International Speech – winner’s certificate, ribbon, and /or trophy for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place at the discretion of Region 8.

1st place winner’s airfare and transportation to the semi-final competition at the International Convention paid by Toastmasters International subject to cost restrictions.  Hotel and food are not included.  (If the contestant does not win the semi-final competition, the contestant will be responsible to pay to attend the World Championship of Public Speaking and any other International Convention events.)

Speech Contests August 2021 – Semi-finals – International Speech – winner’s certificate, ribbon, or trophy for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place at the discretion of Toastmasters International.

Speech Contests – August 2021 World Championship of Public Speaking – International Speech trophy for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place at the discretion of Toastmasters International and photo on next year’s Speech Contest Rulebook.

Club Service

Club Service7/1/2021 – 12/31/2021 –
A member who successfully serves as a Club Sponsor for a newly chartered club with validation from Club President will earn 1 Spiral Notebook and Pen (Item 6944).

Club Service1/1/2022 – 5/31/2022 
A member who successfully serves as a Club Sponsor for a newly chartered club with validation from Club President will earn 1 Light-Up Pen (Item 6912).

Club Service – 7/1/2021 – 5/31/2022
A member who successfully serves as a Club Mentor for a newly chartered club with validation from Club President will earn 1 Document Briefcase (Item 6833).

Club Service7/1/2021 – 5/31/2022
A member who successfully serves as a Club Coach with validation from Club President will earn 1 Computer Messenger Bag (Item 6819).

Community Outreach

Youth Leadership Program – 7/1/2021 – 5/31/2022 – a member who successfully establishes and completes a Youth Leadership Program will enter a drawing to earn 1 Duffle Bag (Item 6834). Drawing will take place twice during the calendar year (November and June). Members must submit information to outreach@toastmastersd47.org prior to commencing the youth leadership program.

Speechcraft – 7/1/2021 – 5/31/2022 – a member who successfully establishes and completes a Speechcraft will enter a drawing to earn 1 Glass Mug (Smedley Quote) (Item 366A). Drawing will take place twice during the calendar year (November and June). Members must submit information to outreach@toastmastersd47.org prior to commencing the speechcraft.
